We Gave Witness to the Lasting Impact of St. Catherine of Siena-St. Lucy Community - June 22, 2025

The legacy of St. Catherine of Siena-St. Lucy Church in Oak Park celebrated 136 years of Catholic ministry and service to Oak Park and to the west side of Chicago. June 22, 2025, was the final Mass for this parish. The congregation had dwindled down to about 85 Sunday worshipers. At this closing Mass, all walks of life, from city and suburbs, filled the church to its brim with 750 worshipers who came to give witness to the lasting impact of these two parishes on their Faith and their families. It was a celebration characterized by sadness, but also much joy as family and friends gathered to celebrate the life of this church on the Feast of Corpus Christi. We were reminded that we are the body of Christ and not the four walls of any structure. God bless everyone who participated in this Final Mass at St. Catherine of Siena-St. Lucy Church.
