Eucharistic Adoration - Catholic Communities of Oak Park and Neighbors
Year-Round Eucharistic Adoration
Everyone in our Catholic Communities of Oak Park and Neighbors is invited to an hour of Eucharistic Adoration held every Thursday from 7:00 to 8:00 PM in St. Giles Church.
Pope Benedict XVI wrote, “Adoration outside of Mass prolongs and intensifies all that takes place during the liturgical celebration itself... and strengthens the social mission contained in the Eucharist, which seeks to break down... walls that separate us from one another.” - The Pope links the practice of adoration with the mission of the Church in its work for social justice.
Each week, on Thursday at 7:00 PM, the Monstrance is on the main altar of St. Giles Church holding the presence of our Lord Jesus. As you come to worship Jesus during Eucharistic Adoration, you place yourself, your family, your parish, and the world you live in with the Real Presence of God.
This is your time to receive the actual grace and mercy of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. You are personally invited to join your fellow parish members during this time of silence and prayer.
Corpus Christi - Eucharistic Adoration and Procession - June 7, 2026
Spirit and Light's Lifelong Learning Committee invites all parishioners, neighbors, and friends to our first annual Corpus Christi Procession. We are called to celebrate the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist on this holy day, the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, Sunday, June 7.
We will begin at 2:30 PM at Saint Giles Church with Adoration followed by a Eucharistic Procession which will end at Saint Edmund Church. We encounter Christ in the Eucharist at Mass and bear His presence into the world through our words and actions of justice, peace, and love. Join in any portion of this and stay for the Catholic Community of Oak Park and Our Neighbors Mass at 5:00 PM.
