Livestream Schedule - Catholic Communities of Oak Park and Neighbors
Thank you for joining us via livestream!
Each parish offers one livestream Sunday Mass each week for those who are not able to attend in person, as well as some monthly livestream prayer services.
These livestream Masses and prayer services are available on the parishes' YouTube Channels. You can also contribute to the Sunday Collection through links to each parish's online contribution system.
Some shared events within the Catholic Communities of Oak Park and Neighbors are also available via livestream. The schedule of any upcoming events is listed below.
As Catholics, we believe that God comes down to meet us at every Mass. When the circumstances don’t allow all of us to come together as a community, remember that God comes to us wherever we are and whenever we seek Him. Every Sunday presents the opportunity to invite Him into our home by participating in one of the livestream or recorded Masses. While these Masses are not the same as worshipping in person, there are some things that you can do to make this a holy time.
Before Mass Begins:
Find a quiet place at home to set up your computer or gather in front of your television. You want to set the stage for prayer and reflection. You may want to light a candle.
Dress appropriately. This helps show reverence and an understanding of the importance of the moment. (The idea around this is to be more thoughtful/prayerful/intentional about what you are going to experience. This certainly would not apply to anyone who is ill or very young!)
Be on time. Joining the livestream early will allow you to pray and better prepare yourself for Mass.
During Mass:
Participate in the Mass. Make the appropriate responses, sing as you are able and follow the readings.
No Food and Drinks. Just as we don’t eat or drink in Church, the same stands for a virtual Mass.
Turn off cell phones or other devices not needed during the livestream. Distractions are not conducive to prayer. (Some of you may want to follow the readings on your phone or other device. We provide a link each week for the readings.)
Do not talk to others in your home during the Mass. Make this a time to visit with God and visit with one another later.
After Mass:
Pray after Mass. If you feel called, offer a prayer of thanksgiving after Mass is over. You may wish to return to the Sunday readings during the week or listen to one of the posted homilies or reflections provided by the parish.
Make your Sunday Offertory online or by mail. Your regular Sunday Offertory is important for your parish to offer programs and ministries.
