CCOP Seniors - Catholic Communities of Oak Park and Neighbors
The Ascension and St. Edmund 50+ Club and the Saint Catherine of Siena-St. Lucy and St. Giles Seniors Club have combined. The new name is CCOP Seniors (Catholic Communities of Oak Park Seniors).
The annual dues for membership are $25.00. Most of that goes towards the Christmas Party (it’s $20 for non-members). The rest of the dues cover the opening meeting with lunch, Breakfast with the Pastor, and assorted other miscellaneous costs: coffee, utensils, plates, napkins. It also covers birthday cards for members, mass cards for deceased members, and gratuities for speakers. Meetings are held most months from September through June in McDonough Hall. We’ll continue to organize other social activities, such as theatre and movie outings.

Relics Tour - October 20, 2026
The CCOP Seniors are planning a visit to The Shrine of All Saints at St. Martha of Bethany Church in Morton Grove for a Relics Tour on Tuesday, October 20.
The Shrine of All Saints currently contains the relics of more than 3,200 different saints, making it the second largest collection of such relics in America after St. Anthony’s Shrine in Pittsburgh. The relics were collected by and are curated by Fr. Dennis O'Neill.
We’ll leave Oak Park at 9:00 AM, carpooling if desired. Plan for about 2 hours at the Shrine. Docents will lead a tour at 10:00 AM consisting of the following:
A 30-minute lecture on the history of the Shrine and of relics themselves.
A 30-minute "walking tour" of some of the highlights of the collection. The relics are in the church so people can sit instead of walking.
About an hour for visitors to look at the collection on their own, while the docents remain available to answer any questions.
The tour is free, but free will offerings are appreciated.
If you’d like to go out to lunch following the tour (at your cost), there are several restaurants nearby, such as Bringer Inn, Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant, and Kappy’s American Grill. If you plan to attend, email [email protected].
Let us know if you plan to attend by Tuesday, September 29.
