Centering Prayer / Meditation - Catholic Communities of Oak Park and Neighbors
Centering Prayer, under the auspices of Spirit and Light Collaborative, arises from our shared contemplative tradition and consists of simply sitting in silence with God. We open the doors of our minds and hearts to wordless communion with God. We say “Yes” to God’s loving and healing presence in our lives.
Join us to deepen your relationship with God; learn how to handle distractions while praying; find support and nourishment for your prayer life; experience community and share spiritual insights.
“When you pray, go to your room, close the door and pray to your Abba in secret. And your Abba who sees in secret, will reward you.” - Mt. 6:6
The Centering Prayer Group meets on Tuesdays from 4:00 PM to 4:45 PM in the transept of St. Edmund Church. For information contact Kathleen Gorman at [email protected]

Registration will be at 8:15 AM and the program will start at 8:30 AM and end by 12:30 PM. It includes two periods of prayer. No charge. Donations cover materials and refreshments. Register by sending an email to [email protected] - Walk-ins welcome.
