A Journey of Faith, Knowledge, and Growth
We believe that learning doesn't stop with age - it deepens with wisdom, experience, and faith. Rooted in religious values, our mission is to inspire and support lifelong learners as they grow spiritually, intellectually, and morally. Whether you're exploring scripture for the first time or continuing a lifelong study of your faith, this is a place to deepen your understanding, ask meaningful questions, and connect with a community devoted to continuous growth in God's truth.
Come and listen to a speaker, participate in a group, explore our resources, suggest a topic, or join our Lifelong Learning Committee. Learning is a sacred journey - and it lasts a lifetime. Future Lifelong Learning events will be posted on this page!

"The Prophetic Tradition" with Peter O'Leary - Jan 27 and Feb 3, 10, 2026
Spirit and Light Lifelong Learning presents "The Prophetic Tradition" with Peter O'Leary - A Three-Part Series on Tuesdays, January 27 and February 3, 10 at 7:00 PM in Murphy Hall at St. Edmund Campus
We are living in times of strife and agony, of menace and atonement. How might the prophetic tradition of scripture speak to us in these times? How might that tradition show us how to bear prophetic witness to what we are seeing and experiencing?
The relationship between religion and poetry is as ancient as either of these cultural forms alone. To see how this operates in the Christian imagination, we will look in three lectures at the visionary heart of Christian poetry from Dante, Milton, Blake, and Whitman, to modern and contemporary poets.
Tuesday, January 27 - LECTURE I - "Abraham, Moses, and the origins of the prophetic tradition" - In this first lecture, we will explore the roles of the founders of our prophetic tradition, Abraham and Moses in particular, to imagine the ways in which in these figures we can visualize our faith.
Tuesday, February 3 - LECTURE II - "Elijah and the world of the biblical prophets" - In this second lecture, by examining the figure of Elijah, in particular the radical commitments of his prophetic promises, we will make claims about the necessities of the books of the prophets, major and minor, in teaching us the commitments of our faith.
Tuesday, February 10 - LECTURE III - "John the Baptist, precursor and forerunner"
