Sacrament of Baptism - St. Catherine of Siena-St. Lucy and St. Giles Parish
The Faith Community of St. Catherine of Siena-St. Lucy and St. Giles welcomes you with great joy as you prepare to have your child baptized! Baptism is more than a ceremony and words; it is a commitment to a lifestyle which promises a life-long friendship with Jesus. Having your child baptized is the first step in that process. We are here to walk with you as you begin that journey.
Baptism for infants and toddlers are held at 12 Noon on the First and Third Sundays of the month at our St. Giles Church. A maximum of 4 families are accepted for each Baptism date. A baptism may also take place at a mutually agreeable weekend Mass at St. Giles Church. There are no baptisms scheduled during Lent.
An evening Parent Baptismal Preparation session is a requirement for first-time parents or parents who never took the preparation class when their older child was baptized. Those parents who took the class at another parish simply need to provide us with proper documentation and will not be required to attend again. Anyone who previously attended a preparation class will be sent a refresher packet of information as they prepare once again for this sacrament. In-person sessions are held once a month at our St. Giles worship site on either the Third Monday (January, March, May, July, September, November) or the Third Tuesday (February, April, June, August, October, December) of the month at 7:30 PM in the Church. Your attendance is required at only one session.
Families coming for Baptism should also be registered members of a Catholic Parish. We gladly welcome you to join our faith community. CLICK HERE for our Parish Registration Form if you are not already a member. If you are a member of another Catholic Parish, we ask that you provide a Letter of Permission from that parish.
There is no set fee for Baptism but a suggested donation of $100 is greatly appreciated and would help to support this vital Ministry here at the Parish.

Parish Baptism Application Form - PDF or Online Options
If you are filling out the Baptism Application before reaching out to the Parish Office, using either the PDF or Online option available below, please be aware of the following:
Your chosen Baptism date must be confirmed by the Parish Office as available before you begin planning your family celebration.
R.C./Other, R.C. means Roman Catholic. Other is for a parent or godparent who is not Catholic. Please indicate the faith that they practice.
Parent(s) Name(s) (As they are to appear on Baptism Certificate) - We include the mother’s maiden name since it is required for the Sacramental Register. Example: John and Mary (Jones) Smith If you prefer a different format, please indicate that on the form.
Godparent requirements - The Church only requires one godparent. However, tradition has allowed for a godmother and a godfather. There needs to be at least one Catholic godparent who must meet all 3 requirements: (1) be at least 16 years old, (2) be a practicing Catholic and (3) have received the Sacrament of Confirmation. A second godparent can be of another Christian faith (Lutheran, Methodist, etc.) as long as he/she has been baptized in that faith. If both godparents are Catholic, then they both need to meet all 3 requirements outlined above. We do not require godparents to give us copies of their Parish registration or Confirmation certificates.
If you need to attend a Baptism Preparation Class, please contact the Parish Office for a list of the upcoming class dates.
