Special Religious Education (SPRED) - Spirit and Light Collaborative
SPRED (Special Religious Development) is a ministry of the Archdiocese of Chicago that fosters inclusion for individuals with developmental disabilities in the life of the Church. Through SPRED, small faith communities are formed where participants - called special friends - and their catechists journey together in faith and friendship.
The SPRED program is located at the St. Giles Campus / Parish Center - Door N - Room 2 and we offer 3 different programs based on age:
Ages 6-10 Years Old – Classes are offered once a month on Wednesday from 5:15 PM to 6:30 PM
Ages 11-16 Years Old – Classes are offered once a month on Thursday from 5:15 PM to 6:30 PM
Adults 22+ – Classes are offered once a month on Mondays from 6:30 PM to 8:15 PM
2025-2026 SPRED Classes begin the week of September 1, 2025
