Have you thought about how you can serve and share your faith with others in our community?

It is the growing season. Are you thinking how you can grow in your faith and share your faith? Maybe you are an empty nester or retired and have time on your hands to give back to the children of the parish. Maybe you are a parent in the parish and would like to grow in your faith along with your children.

It is important to be sharing and supporting the teachings of the Catholic faith, and in the power of faith, bring purpose, strength and hope no matter where we are in life. You might think that you are not knowledgeable enough. You might be surprised what you really know and what you have to share. Your voice, your experience and your faith journey have value. There are others around you who may be searching for a meaning and guidance. There are many ways to share your faith and time with the community.

We need catechists to work with our children from toddlers through high school. You can choose the age group and program that best fits your interests, including Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (a Montessori-based approach), traditional classroom settings, PREP and Little Lambs for little ones, small group leadership for junior high or Confirmation, or one-on-one support through our SPRED special needs ministry. Time commitments are flexible, ranging from weekly to monthly.

A CALL FOR CATECHISTS – You are invited to become a catechist of any of our Religious Education Programs – There are opportunities to share your faith with our children (3 years – 8th grade). No experience is necessary except for an open heart and a willingness to share your faith with others. A benefit to being a catechist, if your child is enrolled in the program there will be a $125 reduction in your tuition.

• Become a Middle School Ministry Table Leader – Be a witness of your faith by accompanying a small group of 7th and 8th graders in discussions and activities. Please contact Coordinator Marci Madary at [email protected].
• The Family (RE) Catechesis program at the Ascension Campus is in need of catechists, classroom aides, and substitutes – For any questions, please contact Coordinator Deborah Ruff at [email protected].
• SPRED – Volunteers Needed! – SPRED is not a classroom model of religious education – we need adult volunteers who will be trained to form a small community of faith and grow in their own faith as they welcome people of a particular age group.
