A Celebration of Life of Fr. John P. Lucas. J.C.L. - June 7, 2025
On Saturday, June 7, 2025, we celebrated the life of Fr. John P. Lucas, longtime priest of St. Edmund and Judicial Vicar with the Court of Appeals of the Province of Chicago. His family, friends, colleagues from the Archdiocese of Chicago, and parishioners came together to honor and remember him. Cardinal Cupich was the principal celebrant along with several bishop and priest concelebrants. Our pastor, Fr. Carl Morello, preached the homily, and Deacon Tom Dwyer assisted. It was a true celebration of Fr. Lucas' life as parishioners from his former parish of St. Cyprian joined in prayer wit his Ascension and St. Edmund family. A beautiful brunch hosted by our Reception Committee followed. We offer our heartfelt condolences to the Lucas family and all who love him. We extend our gratitude to everyone involved with the planning of his special liturgy and particularly the combined choirs of St. Edmund and St. Cyprian.
