Ascension School Students donated Easter Baskets filled with LOVE - April 2026
Thank you, Ascension 5th and 8th Graders, for your generous donation of Easter baskets for the children served by the Migrant Ministry. Wow! So many beautiful baskets, each one filled with sweet treats and small toys - carefully curated by CHILDREN FOR CHILDREN! No one knows better what children like in their Easter baskets than other children. The best!
Our Easter traditions of baskets and bunnies are quite a novelty for migrant children. They didn’t quite understand why a bunny brings eggs, but they were excited to receive the baskets. They understood that more than just sweets, these baskets were filled with LOVE and a warm welcome. The baskets were distributed to children of the families accompanied by the Migrant Ministry and to children visiting the playroom on a Ministry Morning at Centro San Bernardino (the former St. Bernardine School).
For the past 3 ½ years, the Migrant Ministry has been blessed with the time, talent, and treasure of its generous donors and volunteers, but there is a unique and beautiful dynamic when the interaction is between children. A connection is made. The Ascension School Children focused on what the migrant children would like, and the migrant children felt the LOVE.
