This is what 200 Pounds of Winter Coats Looks Like - The first week of December we distributed 122 coats, plus hats, gloves and scarves. The second week we distributed 50 coats plus other warm items. Most of these items have been donated by members of our parishes and other members of the community. Even Dominican University took up a coat collection!
A few elves took a trip to the Good Will outlet in Romeoville and purchased 200 pounds of winter coats and other warm outer wear. Amazing! The migrants are desperate and are so grateful. This effort will continue through December. Thank you to all those who donated and thank you to the volunteers who received, sorted, mended and laundered the donations.
Net Result - We need more coats (especially men’s small), gloves, and blankets. PLEASE, ONLY THESE ITEMS.
