Evangelization may have difficult connotations for many of us; but in it’s true meaning, evangelization is the core of Christ’s mission for the Church. One translation of Evangelization is Happy Proclamation! Every one of us is called to share the joy of our faith, the good news of Jesus Christ, with the world, whether in our words or in our actions.

Members of both parishes who feel called to help our parish communities spread the joy of our faith both within and outside the walls of our churches have formed an Evangelization Team, under the auspices of Spirit and Light Collaborative.

The team is beginning to discern priorities for welcome, outreach and evangelization in collaboration with existing ministries. The team also runs Alpha, a tool that helps to create a space for all to explore questions of life and faith, meeting each person exactly where they are.

All we do must always be rooted in prayer… and so, please pray for the team and our entire community of parishes in Oak Park, that we are guided and renewed by the Spirit to spread the love of Christ, our center.
