Migrant Ministry Receives Bradford O'Neill Award - Migrant Ministry is honored to have received the 2025 Bradford O'Neill Medallion for Social Justice from Dominican University. This award is named after Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters Vincent Bradford Ferrer, OP and Thomas Aquinas O'Neill, OP, and is presented annually to an individual or organization reflecting and embracing the university’s core mission of creating a more just and humane world. The medallion was presented to Father Carl and a group of leaders from Migrant Ministry at their annual Caritas Veritas Symposium on November 5.
Over the past two years, Migrant Ministry has had many opportunities to work with the students and faculty of Dominican. The students have been generous with their time as volunteers at the free store and at asylum workshops. The faculty has likewise offered their time and suggestions in moving our efforts forward.
Dominican University is a Catholic Hispanic Serving institution and a leader in educating immigrants and the children of immigrants. We have learned that a majority of their student body is Spanish speaking. This has made them invaluable in working with those we are serving.
Migrant Ministry is currently pivoting to new projects, and planning an effort to make warm clothing including coats, hats and blankets available even though the free store is closed.
We are pausing all but financial donations now, and will alert you when we can accept donations again. Thank you for your ongoing support of the Migrant Ministry.
