Need Some House Projects Completed? - The Migrant Ministry attempts to meet the short- and long-term needs of our asylum-seeking brothers and sisters through the Housing Ministry, Immigration Support Services, and the Morning Ministry which gives migrants the opportunity to “shop” for clothes, jackets, bedding, shoes, and toiletries. ESL classes and Social Services round out our wholistic approach upholding the dignity of the migrants and looking to the future.
One area of great need of which we can be of minimal assistance is connecting migrants with jobs.
It’s tight and it’s tough. Almost all of the migrants we serve either currently have or are waiting for their work permits, but the current political atmosphere makes it difficult to land a job. We have been able to arrange for some short “gigs,” such as connecting a migrant with a homeowner to help with a house project. These gigs are vital and help a migrant family with necessary living expenses such as rent, utilities and groceries.
Do you have a house project you’ve been meaning to get done? Let a migrant help! Our brothers and sisters are willing to clean your home, paint indoors or outdoors, wash windows, clean gutters, remove junk, clear out a garage, undertake minor construction, do landscape or other yard work, or just about anything else you need to get done.
Our work would not be possible without the volunteers and your generous donations. We have moved from Amazon to DreamList.
Please continue to pray for our beloved migrant brothers and sisters.
