Temporary Protective Status Extended - We received some good news for many of our resettled migrant families, especially those from Venezuela. The Temporary Protective Status (TPS) has been extended. Most of the families have now applied for asylum, which we encouraged them to do to give them another form of protection from deportation.
Humanitarian Parole is still expected to end in April, and we are working with several families to find a solution for them. Our Family Action Packets is complete and is being shared with the families we are accompanying, migrants visiting Centro San Edmundo, and organizations throughout the Chicagoland area serving migrants and undocumented immigrants. It covers such topics as assigning temporary custody of one’s children in case the parents are separated from the children and deported.
Please continue to pray for our beloved migrant brothers and sisters.
