Rent Payments Due - During the past two weeks we have learned of three families unable to make rent payments. One family lost their income when their father was deported. Their mother had to quit her job to care for the children resulting in no income. Another family’s work permits have been delayed due to the change in government processing. The third family has been supported by a local church which is running out of donations. So, how do we help?
We try to help any way that we can, but the donations to Migrant Ministry are less than a year ago. Donations are how we support all our programs. If you are reviewing your 2026 giving, please consider a donation to Migrant Ministry. We would love to support all three of these families. It is easier and less expensive to keep a family in their current apartment than have them evicted and find a new place.
The “free stores” are open. Volunteers are offering clothing, coats, boots, and bedding as well as a breakfast space and a children’s playroom. Donations are accepted on Monday mornings from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Saint Bernardine School, 815 Elgin Ave, Forest Park. Please, only seasonal (winter) clothing, boots, coats, and bedding.
We couldn’t do what we do without your support. MIL GRACIAS, Catholic Communities of Oak Park!
