Coats R Us! - THANK YOU SO MUCH, ASCENSION-SAINT EDMUND’S KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS AND THE SAINT CATHERINE OF SIENA-SAINT LUCY AND SAINT GILES PARISH COMMUNITIES, for your recent coat drives. We are so grateful for the bags and bags of men’s, women’s, and children’s coats that we received.

It’s cold outside, and our migrant brothers and sisters are in need of coats. While we await the approval of the lease with Boulevard Presbyterian, we devised a novel way of getting coats and winter gear to those who need them. We still have access to two large rooms at the former Centro San Edmundo and one of the rooms is now a “COATS R US” fulfillment center.

We regret that we can no longer allow the migrants to select their coats as before (DONATIONS WITH DIGNITY), but we have devised a system in which community partners fill out a Google form and then arrangements are made for the partner to pick up and distribute the coats they requested. A key advantage to this system is that MIGRANTS WHO ARE HESITANT TO LEAVE THEIR HOMES FOR FEAR OF BORDER PATROL can have the coats delivered to them through community partners. Hats, scarves, and gloves for men, women, and children are also available.

WE CONTINUE TO ACCEPT FINANCIAL DONATIONS BUT HAVE PAUSED ALL OTHER DONATIONS EXCEPT FOR COATS, HATS, SCARVES, AND GLOVES.
