Christmas Card Project 2025
We are already working on our Christmas Card Project. The Christmas cards we send mean so much to the people in custody who receive them. A simple card lets them know they are not forgotten. Every year many write to say how much it means to know that someone cared enough to write and often tell us that our cards were the only Christmas cards they received.
Will you help us with this project again this year? We would be so grateful. It is as simple as signing cards and adding a message if you wish. Messages should be uplifting, expressing compassion. Please do not be preachy. Our message is caring concern. We are happy to accept unsigned cards as well. As always, we have a big need for postage stamps as well as more cards.
DO:
Use cards that represent a diverse population.
Place stamps in a separate envelope, NOT on the card envelopes.
Separate and rubber band cards signed by children.
Refrain from using cards that talk about Masses or novenas.
Place the cards into the envelopes, do not SEAL Rubber banding in groups of 50 is helpful.
DO NOT:
Use markers, highlighters or crayons when signing the cards.
Sign any cards that contain glitter, anything pasted or taped to them.
Do not put stickers on the cards or envelopes.
Enclose anything, seal envelopes or place stamps on envelopes.
A collection box marked Companions Journeying Together will be at the courtyard exit of Ascension Church by the sacristy.
