Ascension and St. Edmund Sound System - October 2025

LISTEN WIFI - Since the installation of the LISTENWIFI assistive listening system in the church space at the Ascension site and St. Edmund sites more and more parishioners have begun using the app and are finding it helpful. I am also aware that some folks are still not able to use the app for a variety of reasons. If you continue to have difficulty, please reach out to me and I will try to find some assistance for you. We have been training several additional people to assist anyone needing help with downloading and using the app from their mobile phones.

Parishioners at Mass can use the assisted listening system by downloading the LISTENWIFI app onto their smartphone or tablet. Posters with QR codes are found posted throughout the church mostly near the entrances. The audio is streamed directly to your smart phone or device. Parishioners using the app can use their headphones or the sound is streamed to your Bluetooth enabled hearing aids.

SOUND SYSTEM - Recently, we completed another evaluation of our overall sound system at both the Ascension and St Edmund sites. For the Ascension site, the issue of sound and being able to hear the spoken word is our most common complaint requiring attention. We have received one revised proposal for a new system and are awaiting a second proposal from another vendor. We need two proposals to embark on this project for both the Ascension and St. Edmund sites. The Ascension Church proposal involves a new sound system. If accepted, part of the process will be to have a temporary "loaner" new system put in place for us to experience on a particular weekend. The St. Edmund site proposal involves enhancements and updating the current sound system by replacing aging / outdated equipment.
